February in Review
March 1, 2025
Let’s try a new kind of post today. A little round up of the last month.
Stats
I wrote 3 posts this month, totalling 830 words. Perhaps that isn’t much. But February is a short month, so perhaps that’s just how it goes.
My most popular post of the month was Unoptimized thanks to some neat timing where it went up right as some other people were having similar thoughts so it got crosslinked a couple of places.
Tabcleaning
Here’s a few interesting links I came across this month.
-
Setting Up Mastodon Author Tags. A little feature for making my link previews a little bit fancier when I post them on Mastodon. I don’t know if it will really do much, but it was trivial to set up.
-
This page is under construction: A love letter to the personal website is a plea for more personal websites. Especially weird, cobbled together ones. I am surely biased, but I agree and endorse this post. And Sophie’s makes me want to make my own look a bit fancier. I love me some pixel art (even if I am not good at it myself).
-
Beware the man whose handwriting sways like a reed in the wind An essay circling author Anne Carson’s experiences with Parkinson’s disease. It’s not a cheery piece. She is a writer who I had not heard of until recently, but the mentions I’ve seen of her have put her firmly on my to-read list.
-
Why the Number Line Freaks Me Out. This is a topic I’ll probably write a post about myself sometime. There are some spooky numbers.
Upcoming
So what’s next? I have no idea! I guess I do have a draft or two in the works. And I have faith that I’ll get some more ideas. I’ve been working on some backend stuff that may or may not have visible results. All in all, I am still committed to making no promises with this site.
Have a happy March!
