March in Review

I wrote a whole lot more than last month : 10 posts, totalling 3564 words, my busiest month so far. I wrote a bit of code which I’ll incorporate directly into this site eventually™, that gives me a little table of what the most viewed posts were in a certain time period, like these stats for March:

  1. Making Some Upgrades : 41
  2. The Coming Enshittification of Discord : 32
  3. February in Review : 30
  4. Casual Project Management : 28
  5. Tension : 26
  6. How Many Blog Posts Will You Ever Write? : 23
  7. Unoptimized : 22
  8. Mountains, Please : 21
  9. Boredom at the Grocery Store : 19
  10. Casual Project Management: An Update : 18

I got bored and a little depressed about grocery megacorporations.

I made some upgrades to this place. Said upgrading even got a shout out in a newsletter

And then got a little philosophical about it.

I made up a system to help me focus on actually doing my hobbies. It’s been working well so far.

There’s a lot of things about the current state of the internet that I’m not happy with. But fixing them is not easy and is not likely to start happening on a wide scale anytime soon. In the near term I’m especially worried about what will happen with Discord .

I had some thoughts about mountains , partly because they’re cool, and partly to avoid thinking about other things.

Here’s a life hack for you: when you go to a shop, check their hours to make sure they’re open first. Or don’t and write a blog post about it.

I just can’t seem to go to bed at the time I want to.

I read a whole bunch of cool blog posts and articles this month:

I meant to write notes and responses for all of these, but I’m feeling too lazy for that today. So here’s some selected comments:

As tempting as it is sometimes, I am sorry to say that going outside and doing things is good for you, and good for the stuff you do on the computer.

I came across this article which shares a wonderful illustration of what the early 20th century imagined weather prediction might look like.

I like me my fountain pens. And Pilot makes some good pens, but I always wondered what was up with their model names. This article explains it nicely.

And one last link that I found just this morning, to a cool project one of my friends made.

Happy April!.
