July Has Been A Quiet Month

I haven’t posted anything in a while. Or rather, I feel like I haven’t posted anything in a while. The reality is that it’s been just over a week since my last post. That’s hardly much of a gap—not by any reasonable standard. Part of the trouble, I suppose, is that since I don’t have any kind of consistent schedule here, it is hard to tell just what is a long gap between posts. How long should I wait before I start to worry that I’ve run out of ideas forever.

That last part was a joke. The last few months have just been at a very good pace, and I always knew I would not and could not keep it up forever.

There are some other reasons I’ve slowed down my pace. One major reason is that Blaugust is fast approaching, so I’m saving my ideas for that rather than writing them up right away like I usually do. But I’m hoping to be a lot more active for that. I hope you join in with me.

I’ve also been playing more video games lately, and that takes time. I haven’t gamed much in a long time, but I’ve been picking it up in the last month. In particular I finally got around to installing the copy of Stardew Valley that I bought in a Steam sale a couple of years ago. In addition to that, I’ve picked up a familiar old time-sink, Runescape. I could write a whole post about that game. I probably will at some point. Between those two, I’ve been spending a fair bit less time writing.

It was unintentional, but it occurs to me that this post is quite similar to the previous one in that they both present a “solution” of sorts to not writing. You can always just write about not writing! It works.
