Urban Dictionary, and Wikitionary both define shitposts as “worthless” but I think that is not quite right. Many shitposts are indeed worthles, but there is more to them than just low quality.
Every now and then I come across something that makes me wonder if it is a shitpost or a piece of art. What I have come to think is that those are not mutually exclusive. Two of the latest examples I have encountered are this surprisingly listenable goose themed album, Honking , and this glorious rant of a poem, Poem in the Shape of the Poet Beating Henry Kissinger to Death with Their Bare Hands , published by Taco Bell Quarterly, an online magazine whose entire existence is one of these art-shitposts.
